When it comes to photographing families, couples and weddings, my style rests heavily on remaining relatively unobtrusive and using natural light, and varying locations that mean something to you. I like to capture the raw emotions of our time together – but I understand that we all like a little direction to make us feel comfortable.
For product photography I am incredibly particular about showcasing the reason and the story behind a brand and I aim to make that speak through my photos.
FAQ
CAN YOU TRAVEL FOR OUR SHOOT?
I am based in Cape Town and like to utilize a number of locations within a 45km radius of Brackenfell.
I hold a British passport and return to the UK once a year to visit family - in this time, I can assist with photoshoots in and around Manchester and Chester - and if you need me for a wedding, I can travel where needed.
DO YOU TAKE VIDEO TOO?
I offer add-on video packages for family sessions - choose from snippets or film or let me create a video for you or our time together.
WHAT IF THE WEATHER IS BAD?
As an on-location photographer I am used to working in all types of weather conditions. The only times I will reschedule a session is when it is forecast for heavy rain or strong winds. I do ask you to be flexible on the day of your shoot as sometimes we may have to adjust the time we had planned to avoid a shower or two.
WHAT IF MY KIDS DON’T COOPERATE?
This is often a major concern for clients but honestly, there is no right or wrong way to behave. Preparing them beforehand and having props and comforting items on hand can really help put them at ease.
One of the main reasons I love shooting outdoors is because it inspires kids to explore and be themselves. Nature often has a very calming affect on kids and gives them opportunity to let their unique personalities shine through.
I have two very active daughters of my own so I’ve got oodles of patience and understanding 😉
WHAT SHOULD WE WEAR?
I have curated a detailed session guide which I send to all my clients, giving them ideas on what to wear and how to prepare for a shoot. I do encourage you to put a little thought into it for the longevity of the photos.
I am also available on Whatsapp for clients to send clothing suggestions through to me for feedback.
DO YOU OFFER ALBUMS OR PRINTS?
I don’t, but I do utilize Creative Albums for my own designs and I print my work with Orms.
